ANNOUNCEMENTS
Lenten Adult Education 7 pm tonight and 9:40 am on Sunday. We are discussing White Fragility. Join us!

Bag Lunch Preparation THIS Saturday at 9:45 a.m. in the Parish Hall - Lynn Rose spoke to us at the Social Justice Brunch about the marvelous work of the Montgomery County Commission for the Homeless in its goal of ending hunger and homelessness in Montgomery County.  The men's shelter on Gude Drive is an essential part of this process.  We at Good Shepherd reach out to the shelter the second Saturday of each month with our bag lunches, which are served to clients on both weekend days.  We hope that you will join us in our ongoing follow-up to assist the MCCH in its mission.  We finish in an hour or less and enjoy good fellowship along the way.  Nina and Phill Scott are our Bag Lunch Coordinators.

Heifer Ingathering Is Here!  - Palm Sunday is THE DAY of our 2019 ingathering for Heifer International.  Heifer boxes filled with coins, cash, and checks move from the kitchen counter to the Heifer basket at church to purchase bees and bee supplies for individuals and communities to encourage financial independence.  Heifer International also supplies necessary training and follow-up to the new beekeepers.  If you contribute by check, please make the check out to Good Shepherd and write HEIFER on the memo line.  If you contribute coins and cash in a Heifer box and would like to receive credit, please write your name clearly on the outside of the box.  Deena has done such a marvelous job of making us aware of the attributes and many benefits of bees.  Let's applaud her enthusiasm with our generosity.  Thank you.

Equal Exchange Coffee, Chocolate, Cocoa, and Palestinian Olive Oil Special Orders  - Lynn Wood is ready to put in her last Equal Exchange order until October 1, when the summer additional charge is gone.  She is requesting your assistance in two ways in order to know what best to order.  1.  Special orders are for those of you who wish to order in bulk, such as a "case" of one of the products.  2.  Special requests are from those of you who wish to make certain that your favorite item (or items) is included in this order, such as specific chocolate bars or a bottle of olive oil.  You are asked either to see Lynn in person on Sunday, April 14, or email her at greglynn2@verizon. net.  Prices are as follows: Chocolate bars - multiple types - One bar - $3.  One case (12 bars) - $36.  One box of minis (milk or dark chocolate - 150 minis) - $32. Maundy Thursday Soup Supper You are invited to share a simple soup supper before the Holy Thursday service with fellow parishioners. Volunteers are needed to set-up and clean up, make coffee, make soup, bring bread, or dessert. Please join us on April 18 at 6:30 pm. A sign up sheet is posted on the desk in the Narthex.

Easter Egg Hunt - Our annual Easter egg hunt will be held after the 8:30 and 10:30 am services on the playground. Bring plastic eggs to hide next Sunday.

Farewell to Shawn . Our last day with Shawn Evelyn, our Seminarian, will be Sunday May 5th. Please join us for a special coffee hour on that date to celebrate his ministry with us. You may also contribute to Shawn's parting gift by writing a check to Good Shepherd with "Seminarian" on the memo line. If you have questions, please see Donna Clemons-Sacks or Ray Groshong.

Saint Luke Food Pantry is part of a county-wide network of groups that work together and alongside each other to help make life better for all our citizens.  We at Good Shepherd are privileged to have the opportunity to bring in staples each Sunday that will be distributed by the volunteers at Saint Luke Food Pantry to those for whom food insecurity is an issue.  Filling the cabinets at the back of the sanctuary with nutritious staples is one way we can respond to the messages we heard from last Sunday's speakers.
