Ukraine - As we rejoice in the promises of Easter, we cannot ignore the pain of our Ukrainian brothers and sisters. In his April 19 column, Michael Gerson challenges us in profound ways, beginning with the title: "God is here, even amid the horrors of war that test faith." Your Social Ministries Team encourages you to search for and read this column if you can. We continue to offer these opportunities to provide hope to those who reach out in love and healing to those who are victims of these current horrors that are promising to get even worse in the days to come:
Water for Life - Last call for donations to this year's Heifer campaign. Next week, we will announce the total and request that a check be mailed to Heifer. The 2022 Heifer Team (Shaun, Lynn, Marca, Allen) thanks you for helping to provide clean water resources to those who can't just turn on the faucet.
Holy Saturday Food Collection - Our lower expectations for the holiday weekend were upended by your generosity. You brought a big smile to the faces of our friends gathered at Luther Rice for their regular food distribution. Thank you.
Next Food Drive SaturdayMay 7.
Grocery Shopping for Our Food Collection Outreach (1st and 3rd Saturdays). Updated Manna Food Center List Link. Luther Rice distributes food twice a month, and packs the bags before each distribution, which are usually in the morning of the 4th Saturday of each month.
