Join us on Monday, June 30 for "Moral Monday" with Rev. William Barber. The Reverend Barber will be leading a demonstration. Anyone who wishes to join the demonstration in front of the Supreme Court at 11:00 am would be welcome and bring, in the words of John Lewis, "good trouble!" If you would like more details talk to or email Deacon Linda at deacon@gsecmd.org.
George and Anna Sabbatical & Farewell- George and Anna's last Sunday is June 29. They have invited everyone to their house for a farewell "À bientôt" party on June 29th from 4-8 pm.
July is Globe Month at Good Shepherd! - Hold onto your hats and get ready to "journey" around the Good Shepherd Globe during the month of July. No passports or visas needed. Our first stop will be in downtown Washington, DC to learn more about Asylum Works, with a special focus on PRISM. Next, we will travel up University Blvd. into the metropolis of Wheaton to check out the amazing dedication of leadership, volunteers, and contributors at MUM, who are helping our neighbors in our neck of the woods with food, rental assistance, and so much more. Our last stop will be at the headquarters of our longtime friends at Shepherd's Table in Silver Spring to learn how their focus on the unhoused over the decades has expanded beyond but not to the exclusion of their original mission of providing meals as needs have both changed and multiplied. No reservations needed. The only things you need for this journey are an open heart, soul, mind, and imagination. In case you are wondering, Jesus will be traveling with us.

Senior Warden’s Message
"Relationships of shared purpose are rooted not only in a commitment to one another, but also to a shared dream….
If the sweet spot … is the intersection of mutual concern and shared purpose, I want to root in a community that stands at that same intersection. Such a community sees every ritual, every service, and every gathering as an opportunity for a deepening of connectivity. It invests in people as complicated, multi-faceted, wounded, beautiful individuals, each one essential to the greater whole. This kind of community is fueled by questions like “Who are you, and what brings you here?” rather than “Where do you work?”… This kind of community establishes spiritual anchors—regular opportunities for people to pray, sing, grieve, learn, and reflect together. It recognizes the collective power of people of good will working to help heal the broader society and prioritizes creating pathways for the holy work to be done. It invests in the creation of sacred space that fosters belonging, intimacy and authenticity, love and accountability."

Plans and Progress for the Construction of the new
Evergreen Montessori School
At the end of the service on Sunday we will be moving the choir and clergy robes rack to its new home in the music/choir room (behind the organ)!!!! The only items left in the Education Wing are 2 small desks and if anyone knows anyone who wants them, please take them!!
The SDA and Iglesia De Dios congregations will be moving their bins of material for their church schools to metal racks in the nursery and during construction they will be operating their children's education programs in there. They will also have access to the parish office and the rector's office as per their schedules for any adult education or business meetings during construction. We will also be working with them to designate these rooms as "Private" areas as per the Diocese immigration and refugee policies.
We are working with both congregations to get easily moveable storage racks for all our folding tables and chairs. We are checking to make sure these racks can fit through all the doors as well as in the elevator. During construction we will store them in the hall/narthex as appropriate.
The "Boiler Room" has been cleaned out (the floor has been cleaned too!!) and the plastic shelving has been cleaned, reassembled and stocked with items for the bathrooms, lighting and cleaning materials.
All remaining unclaimed items are in the hall on tables. Please take anything you want. Anything that is left will be recycled or thrown out.
Thank you to everyone for helping to make us as prepared as possible for construction!!
