SOCIAL OUTREACH
Special Requests for Third Saturday Food Collection on June 19 -As is our custom on the third Saturday, our food collection (11:00-12:00) in the church parking lot will go to our neighbor across the street for their twice-monthly food distribution. Once again, they have four special requests:
 1. Masa (corn flour, NOT corn meal)
2. Shelf-stable milk
3. Cooking oil
4. Cans or plastic jars (no glass) of spaghetti sauce
Questions? Contact Lynn Wood. Of course, other items are also welcomed, but it is very helpful for us to focus on these four. Thank you.

Continued Assistance Needed for Ahli Hospital in Gaza City Through the American Friends of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem (AFEDJ) - Ahli is the only Christian hospital in the densely populated territory home to two million Palestinians whose suffering from the 11-day war is ongoing. Response to the appeal from the AFEDJ continues. To date, contributions through the AFEDJ have enabled Ahli to:

- Increase the free community clinic from one to four days a week.
- Purchase fuel to power generators 18-20 hours a day when the power grid is offline.
- Purchase medicine and medical supplies.
- Expand the burn clinic to treat an increased number of children with burns.
- Expand the psychosocial rehabilitation program to treat children and their caretakers severely traumatized by the recent 11-day war.

Archbishop Hosan Naoum has stated that "the doors of Ahli will remain open as it stands as a powerful witness to this place of desperation and unimaginable horror." An easy way to contribute is through the webpage - afedj.org. Just go to the DONATE link. You can also learn about the mission and work of the American Friends of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem.

Almost Time for a Globe Distribution - The Globe will be open wide for your contributions on our food collection Saturday June 19. You can also mail a check made out to Good Shepherd with GLOBE written on the memo line. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate special occasions in our lives since March 2020 and to remember in this unique way people and opportunities that we have missed and lost because of Covid. The Globe also enables us to focus on the future. Our next distribution will take place in early July. Details to follow.

Shepherd's Table Wish List - A way to respond to the needs of Shepherd's Table is through the WISH LIST link on their website:  https://shepherdstable.org.
