Our next Food Drive is this Saturday, November 20, 11-12 am in the Good Shepherd Parking Lot. Bring in those canned goods! I have a bag of toiletries, so I’ll be bringing those to Transfiguration Parish after our Food Drive for them to take to Samaritan Ministry. Also blankets are still welcome for Shepherd’s Table. And if you happen to have items for immigrants setting up house, I’ll get them to Margaret Foster. Pots and pans, silverware, jackets, baby clothes – it’s all grist for the mill!  Hope to see you Saturday! Looking for a family activity for Advent? (The first Sunday is November 29th!) Heifer International provides Fill the Ark, a four-week family devotional with a focus on gratitude for our blessings and a generous spirit of giving to our neighbors in need. This resource is free to download. Bringing family together during this hectic time of year is an excellent way to prepare our hearts for the celebration of our Savior’s birth.

Is your 2020 pledge up-to-date? If not, we ask that you bring it up-to-date as soon as possible. Please also consider pre-paying your November and December 2020 pledge payments. Do you make a plate offering? Not physically being in church these past eight months has significantly reduced our plate offerings. Would you consider making a financial donation to Good Shepherd to offset the shortfall? You can either send in a check to the church office, or go to the Good Shepherd website to donate online. Thank you for your continued and faithful support. Pledge on-line! Make your 2021 pledge on-line by clicking on this link. Or with your pledge card mailed to you in the Stewardship packet.

New Blankets for Shepherd's Table - New blankets, not too large, please, are preferred. There are a number of stores where blankets do not cost an arm and a leg. Some of these offer "sales" and coupons. For suggestions, contact Lynn Wood or Debbie Beebe. Debbie is our coordinating link with Shepherd's Table. Please know that Shepherd's Table, MCCH, Bethesda Cares, and other such groups work tirelessly to move all their clients into warm, secure housing. None of them thinks that blankets to keep people warm who sleep outside is a permanent solution. Despite their best efforts, however, they still have clients who for their own reasons spend their nights outside. These folks are children of God. We as their brothers and sisters see in them the face of Jesus and respond as we are able. In the cold weather to come, blankets are essential.  Blankets may be dropped off at the Good Shepherd parking lot Saturday, November 21, between 11:00 and 12:00 noon.
