Volume 12, Issue #22
June 2, 2022
In the name of Christ, we embrace all people to be nourished and empowered by the Holy Spirit to love and serve the world.

Because of recent COVID cases at Ascension, I encourage everyone to wear a mask in the building. I also encourage you to update your vaccinations / boosters if you have not already done so. These are simple things that we can do to show agape (respectful) love to our community. Thank you. Sincerely, Father Peter

FROM PETER'S PEN
I am feeling much better, but still dealing with COVID symptoms. Nicole received her second booster last week and is still negative, thanks be to God. We appreciate all of your prayers and support. You are a wonderful family!
In order to keep from spreading my illness, I will be at home until my symptoms go away. Mother Margaret Shanks will return this Sunday for Pentecost, that lovely celebration of the Holy Spirit's first appearing among the early Christians.
With Agape,
Peter +

ATTENTION
"Tongues of Fire" Readers
If you would like to read aloud in a foreign language during the worship service on Sunday, you will need a printed page from which to read.
OR you may ask Parish Admin Mona Proctor, in advance, to print the reading in another language of your choice. Email info@ascensionfrankfort.org or leave a voice message at 502-223-0557 - any time BEFORE Sunday morning! Specify what language you wish to read, and state your name and a phone number to call in case of any questions.
During the service on Sunday morning, you will be prompted at the appointed time to stand in place and read aloud, as others do the same in different languages. Everyone is welcome to read. Yes, you may read in English from the bulletin, or in the same language as someone else. No, your pronunciation will not be graded! Whether or not you read aloud... take a moment to listen.

A PRAYER FOR UKRAINE
God of peace and justice,
We pray for the people of Ukraine today.
We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons.
We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow,
That your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them.
We pray for those with power over war or peace,
For wisdom, discernment and compassion
To guide their decisions.
Above all, we pray for all your precious children, at risk and in fear,
That you would hold and protect them.
We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
Amen.
Archbishop Justin Welby – Archbishop Stephen Cottrell
