Volume 12, Issue #33
August 18, 2022

In the name of Christ, we embrace all people to be nourished and empowered by the Holy Spirit to love and serve the world.
FROM PETER'S PEN

This Sunday (August 21) the sermon will discuss finding healing after being wounded. The Church is a wonderful place, but it can also be a wounding place. Please join us!

As many of you know, my wife Nicole’s step-father, Gerald, recently passed away. Nicole and I will be traveling to Kansas, August 22-28. Please keep us and her family in your prayers. Gerald was a really fine person who was both a father and a model to both of us. He is missed!

A PRAYER FOR UKRAINE
God of peace and justice,
We pray for the people of Ukraine today.
We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons.
We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow,
That your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them.
We pray for those with power over war or peace,
For wisdom, discernment and compassion
To guide their decisions.
Above all, we pray for all your precious children, at risk and in fear,
That you would hold and protect them.
We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
Amen.
Archbishop Justin Welby – Archbishop Stephen Cottrell
