Volume 12, Issue #35
September 1, 2022

In the name of Christ, we embrace all people to be nourished and empowered by the Holy Spirit to love and serve the world.
We regret to share news of the death
of long-time Ascension member
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon her.

Martha did not wish to have a public service and the family, in lieu of flowers, would like to direct donations to the Bluegrass Care Navigators (Hospice), https://www.bgcarenav.org/
FROM PETER'S PEN

As Mona concludes her time as our Parish Administrator, I want to express my sincere thanks for her years of faithful, hard, and good work at Ascension. She helped us to stay organized, made us look fabulous with her graphic design gifts, and was a pleasant, professional presence when people first walked into the church office. I am very grateful for her work and her presence. Well done, good and faithful servant!

A PRAYER FOR UKRAINE
God of peace and justice,
We pray for the people of Ukraine today.
We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons.
We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow,
That your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them.
We pray for those with power over war or peace,
For wisdom, discernment and compassion
To guide their decisions.
Above all, we pray for all your precious children, at risk and in fear,
That you would hold and protect them.
We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
Amen.
Archbishop Justin Welby – Archbishop Stephen Cottrell
