Volume 9, Issue #15 - April 11, 2019

In the name of Christ, we embrace all people to be nourished and empowered by the Holy Spirit to love and serve the world.
From Palm Sunday throughout Holy Week, there is a service at Ascension every day, as traditionally associated with the last days of Christ. Come worship with us as we re-enact events, walk with Jesus, and explore once again the heart of our Christian faith.

This Sunday, April 14, is Palm Sunday - the Sunday of the Passion .  It begins on a triumphant note as we bless palms and remember the cheering crowds who welcomed Jesus into Jerusalem. But quickly we are reminded, in the reading of the Passion Gospel, that this same crowd turned against Jesus by the week’s end.

Maundy Thursday, April 18: Mark your calendars now and plan ahead to take a turn at sitting for this all-night holy vigil – in teams of two or more, please, for safety. A sign-up sheet for sitting the vigil is now posted in the hallway on the office door; please make your commitment as soon as possible.
EASTER LILY ORDERS: You are invited to sponsor a potted Easter lily to honor someone special in your life. The lilies will be used to decorate the church on Easter Sunday, and dedications will be listed in the Easter bulletin and eWeekly. (Y ou may claim your lily to take home later if you wish.) Order/dedication forms are available here to print , and may be found on tables in the church and hallway. Please return forms to the office no later than Wednesday, April 17.
Sunday, April 28
Please join us for a reception in her honor, following the 10:30 service.
In lieu of any parting gifts, Mother Nancy requests donations be made to the Cathedral Domain. You may contribute by check to Ascension with a designation for the Cathedral Domain, or online at the following link: Cathedral Domain Episcopal Camp & Retreat Center
