after the 10:30 service, in the parish hall

Your attendance is encouraged and needed as we review the year just past, and make important decisions for the year to come. Please plan to attend!

***Because of the "iffy" weather forecast***
watch our Facebook Group page and your email for any weather-related announcements. As long as worship services are not cancelled, the Annual Meeting will be held as scheduled.

Please contact Leah MacSwords to coordinate luncheon plans; food items should be brought into the kitchen before the 10:30 service.

Child Care: Young people of all ages are invited to hang out in the Library for organized activities during the business meeting.

Voting: In accordance with the 2018 Parish Bylaws and the 2015 Constitutions and Canons of the Diocese of Lexington: Qualified voters at a Parish meeting shall be (a) all those who are confirmed communicants in good standing of the age of sixteen years or older, and (b) any other baptized persons of such age who are regular worshipers in the Parish and who for six months immediately preceding the meeting have been regular contributors to the support of the Parish. (Canon 17.04)

  • Election of Ascension deputies and alternate(s) to the 2019 Diocesan Convention: Three lay deputies and alternate(s) will be elected; the Senior Warden for the calendar year is automatically the fourth lay deputy. Our deputy slate for this year is: Laura Buffenmyer, Pauline Van Horn, and Shannon Lancaster, with Jim Kimbrough and Jim King as Alternates (qualifications are the same as for vestry candidates.)

  • Early Voting for 8am Attendees: For those eligible voters who attend the 8am service on January 20 and are unable to return for the Annual Meeting, early balloting will be allowed at the conclusion of the 8am service. Balloting will be conducted in the parish office.

In its 25th year, Jill’s January Jamboree is set for 5-7 p.m. on Monday, January 21, at Ascension. The meal includes a gourmet spaghetti dinner, salad, garlic bread, drink and dessert for a suggested donation of $15; children eat free. Vegetarian options will be available. All proceeds benefit The Sunshine Center , a local non-profit which deals with family-abuse prevention.

Reservations for the dinner can be made by calling 502-875-3495. Although walk-ins and carry out options are welcomed, it is best to make a reservation so organizers can make adequate preparations. Click here to read more about the event.
By January 31, 2019, you will receive an itemized statement listing all of your 2018 giving – including “donations in kind” - that you may use for tax purposes. If you have any questions about donations or pledges, please contact Mona Proctor in the parish office: call 502-223-0557 or email info@ascensionfrankfort.org .
