Volume 9, Issue #25 - June 20, 2019

In the name of Christ, we embrace all people to be nourished and empowered by the Holy Spirit to love and serve the world.
The seventh annual Frankfort Reading Camp wraps up tomorrow - Friday, June 21. Campers studied hard, practiced and progressed with new reading techniques and skills, made new friends, and enjoyed many fun activities together! Each camper will go home with a loaded book bag, a Certificate of Recognition, and an increased awareness of and ability to enjoy reading. Each will also receive a backpack when school starts, and Deacon Rebecca will follow up with contact later in the year.

In addition to classroom activities and individual focus time, field trips this year included a trip on the the KSU riverboat, a class at the Frankfort School of Ballet, an afternoon at Heavenly Hilltop farm and railroad, an opportunity to read aloud to the animals at Life House, and a visit to the Paul Sawyier Public Library. Poor Richard's Bookstore was helpful in obtaining copies of new Dr. Seuss books for all, and Half Price Books in Hamburg made a very generous donation of books.

Thanks are due to so many - first to Deacon Rebecca Saager for her dedication and tireless leadership. To Jenny Neat for her phenomenal photography, and to Father Jessee for his unflagging support and motivation. To all the volunteers: skilled teachers, reading coaches, teen counselors, and other support workers. To the cooks and kitchen workers, who prepared and served breakfast and lunch daily. And especially to the donors who continue to make this free, fun, educational day camp possible for Frankfort children. Thanks to all of you, from all the campers and their families!

Building & Grounds Cleanup

Many hands make light work!

Save the date and plan to help make our building sparkle and grounds look clean and neat. Bring your own tools and supplies, please, especially paper yard waste bags.

We have an early summer proliferation of weeds, and a week’s worth of heavy indoor activities to tidy up after. Will you spend half a day to help?

Please contact Jim King ( jimkingfft@hotmail.com ) to review most-needed chores.
Sunday, June 30

Evensong: 5:00 PM

As you are able, please park in either the YMCA parking garage, or in the St. Clair parking garage. (St. Clair garage by special permission only for this event; enter from Catfish Alley, across from the church kitchen. Park only in garage spaces NOT marked with a name and NOT marked ‘Court.’) This will free up more of our closer parking lot spaces for visitors. Thank You!
