Volume 9, Issue #35 - September 5, 2019

In the name of Christ, we embrace all people to be nourished and empowered by the Holy Spirit to love and serve the world.
FROM PETER'S PEN

Hello!

It is a delight to begin walking and working with you. From the very beginning, the people of Ascension Parish have been warm and welcoming: thank you so much.

I am spending this first week getting settled, meeting the staff, and beginning to find my way around the parish. Nicole is hard at work as an ASW 1 (Alternative Sentencing Worker) for the state. Essentially: she helps people who are incarcerated for non-violent drug offenses transition from jail to residential treatment. She serves Mercer, Boyle, & Lincoln counties. Our son, Roman, is in his 2nd week of classes at WKU and so far is having a great time (though he reports that his trigonometry class is "boring" and his chemistry class is "scary..."). He is studying biology with an interest in forestry.

Again: what a joy to be here with you! I look forward to getting to know you and living fully into the life of this vibrant parish!

With Joy,

Peter+
