OUR ANNUAL PARISH MEETING will be held this
Sunday, January 15,
after the 10:30 service in the parish hall. Potluck contributions for the meal are invited - please contact Ginni Fox to coordinate (ginnifox@msn.com).
Please plan to stay for the luncheon and business meeting. Eligible parish voters are especially encouraged to attend and vote for our new class of vestry members and our lay deputies to the 2017 Diocesan Convention.
In accordance with the 2015 Constitutions and Canons of the Diocese of Lexington:
Qualified voters at a Parish meeting shall be (a) all those who are confirmed communicants in good standing of the age of sixteen years or older, and (b) any other baptized persons of such age who are regular worshipers in the Parish and who for six months immediately preceding the meeting have been regular contributors to the support of the Parish. (Canon 17.04)
- Election of Vestry Candidates: The following individuals have been presented by the Nominating Committee as candidates for the 2020 vestry class, and meet all the canonical qualifications: Ron Gruzesky, Rose Gayle Hardy, Jim King, Leah MacSwords, and Pauline Van Horn.

- Election of Ascension deputies and alternate(s) to the 2017 Diocesan Convention: Three lay deputies and alternate(s) will be elected; the Senior Warden for the calendar year is automatically the fourth lay deputy. Those who have consented to stand as lay deputy candidates are: Jim King, Leah MacSwords, and Pauline Van Horn. Jim Kimbrough has consented to stand as an alternate lay deputy.
- Early Voting for 8:00 a.m. Attendees: For those eligible voters who attend the 8:00 a.m. service on January 15 and are unable to return for the Annual Meeting, early balloting will be allowed at the conclusion of the 8:00 a.m. service. Balloting will be conducted in the parish office.
- Reports: Committees and organizations should submit annual reports for 2016 by Tuesday, Jan. 10. Email your Word-format documents to info@ ascensionfrankfort.org, or submit a print copy to Mona in the parish office. (For reports completed later, please plan to make your own copies.)
- Youth & Children: Child care will be provided for little ones, and youth or school-age children are invited to hang out in the Library during the meeting; there will be games, books, and a movie available.

updates are going out soon. Watch your email inbox (or U.S. mailbox, if we don't have an email address for you). This is only for your information, to reconcile your annual giving/stewardship pledge payments with our records. Don't be confused - This IS NOT the annual statement for your taxes.
The annual Total Giving statement detailing all of your 2016 donations to Ascension will be provided to you no later than January 31. It will include all pledge payments, Capital Campaign contributions, and other donations such as flowers, memorial gifts, etc. This IS the statement you need for income tax purposes.
