This month and this week in particular LOVE is in the air. It can often bring back memories of your first kiss, your first date or your wedding. In those moments everything was so perfect.
In the early stages there is nothing you don't like about your partner. We see this person with rose coloured glasses.
Over time this may change, and often those cute little things they did that seemed eccentric can become ANNOYING! How interesting!
There are many successful marriages out there that have stood the test of time and challenge. One day while on my way to a meeting I saw the cutest and most adorable older couple walking hand in hand. I was moved...and because I'm basically NOSEY I asked them what their secret was. They said you need three things. I thought: only three ... really???? They said three things you need for a successful marriage are:
- Keep it fresh and walk the path together
- Keep your word hold true to your vows
- Always thank your partner for being in your life ... because you are NOT always easy to live with!
To me this meant that as a relationship develops, it requires momentum to move forward. Our interactions need to be harmonious with who we were when we first met. We must do what we say ... NO bait and switch thing. Finally, always demonstrate gratitude through your actions.
Make sense to me!
So, I am sure it is not surprising to know that your customers want exactly the same thing.
A single ACT can enhance your relationship.
ACT
Actuate: To set in motion. What systems do you have in place to maintain and grow your relationships? What systems do you currently use for rewarding your BEST customers?
Consistent: Congruency in your message and in all interactions is critical. If it walks like a duck, and talks like a duck, it must be a duck. Are your customers clear in your interactions? Do you communicate with them clearly and consistently in everything you do?
Thankfulness: So simple yet so often forgotten. With social media being so widely accepted there are no cost barriers to acknowledging your customers. Simple ways you can thank your customers: suggest others like their fan page or use the @ sign for Facebook and Twitter to acknowledge others. Some of you are VERY good as this.
