Pastor Trudy's Message

The message this week: It's an old saying, 'Can't see the forest for the trees.' When you are standing in a forest, you have no idea how big it is or where you are in it. Sometimes you need to back up to get perspective and take a wide view.  Interesting in this week's lesson from Mark 10: 32-52, a blind man is the one who can see.

Mighty God, it is so easy for us to get caught in the trees, unable to see Your bigger picture unfolding around us. Give us space and perspective. Help us to see. In Jesus' name, Amen.

From a 6th grade confirmation student...

What are some ways to welcome different people in my life?

• Forgive us for the times we thought we were doing good but caused harm.
• Give us a passion for its stewardship according to your will.
• Mucho amor en el mundo.
• We pray around the issue of gun violence; for victims and their families and for those who can bring about change.
• Guide doctors and caregivers in their service and send your healing power to all to all who suffer mentally, physically, emotionally, or spiritually and their caregivers…the Oliver family, Erik, Karen, Rose, Ron, Carla, the Lee family, Paul, Barb, Jimmy, Wren, Tom, Lizzie, Alex, Steve, and those we name in our hearts….
• Help us to make space for your voice in our hearts, to let go of fears and celebrate your gifts to be the servants you intend us to be.

From now until Holy Week we will be running a Soup Bracket! We have 16 soups competing, with four facing off every week. This week we have...
