Pastor Trudy's message

Jesus tells some stories! In fact, the scripture says Jesus only spoke in stories when He was talking to the crowd. Here's the thing about stories...unlike reading a science textbook, you can't listen just for details you may need to offer back on a test. You have to go on the journey the story takes you on. With Jesus, you may not end up in the place you expected!

You are the Great Storyteller, O God, for You spoke creation into being. You spoke us into being. Open us to join the stories of Jesus to keep writing the stories of Your love. In Jesus' name, Amen.

FMSC Mobile Pack Event

Spots are filling up fast! Come to North Central College's ResRec (440 S. Brainard St., Naperville) to help pack 1,000,000 meals with other area churches and organizations! GLC has reserved the Sunday, Feb. 19, 12:30 - 2:30 pack time and is committed to raising $2500 for this event that will be DOUBLE matched once reached!

Because of the help from the kids at Geneva Lutheran Church, we are sending boxes of winter gear to the students at Jefferson Middle School in Aurora. There's a very large refugee population at the school and most of the students walk to school, so these items will be used immediately. The principal is creating a "Gear Closet," where students can come discreetly and select the items they need and like. The ability to choose is so beautiful. Thank you for helping make this happen!

Congratulations to the 25 students who celebrated their First Communion! They were excited and nervous to receive this sacrament—and so very blessed to live out the promises made at their Baptisms. We are inspired by their witness and encouraged by their faith!
