Vicar Sharai's message
This week’s text continues Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount. He teaches the people to fast and pray earnestly and in secret. Jesus comforts the worried, asking them to consider the ways that God anticipates and provides for the needs of all creation. He ends this part of his sermon by saying, “...tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” These things sound easy when Jesus says them! But letting go of our worries and trusting God while we see violence and destruction in the world can be so difficult. How does Jesus equip us to hold on to our faith as we face the troubles of today?
Jesus, letting go of our worries and trusting in you can be so difficult. Help us to see how you work in, with, and through us each day. Amen.
