Pastor Trudy's Message

I knew you were trouble when you walked in! King Ahab calls Elijah a 'troubler' and Elijah turns the tables to name Ahab as the real troubler because he and his wife worship foreign gods. They set up a test to prove which god is the Real God. It seems to settle it... but does it?  

Mighty God, we want You to make all of the answers clear, especially if they are answers we like and will prove others wrong. Help us to live into both the simplicity and complexity of what it means to live a life of following You. In the name of the One who puts flesh on Your words, Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.

What happens when I don't like the words we say in some of the parts of worship, like the confession or prayers?

RACE in downtown Geneva this Sunday, November 5.

Access the church parking lot from Route 31 on Franklin Street. There is usually a police officer at the corner of Franklin and 2nd street to make sure everyone stays safe.  Be sure to thank them for being there!

Our e-news prayer requests are a great way to stay connected with the prayer life of the congregation. If you want to ask for prayer but aren’t sure what about, consider these categories of things we can pray for:

• For those who are suffering and their loved ones
• For those who are grieving and lonely
• For those who are celebrating something (anything!)
• For thanksgiving of some good thing you’ve noticed
• For the church! Its mission and ministry
• For creation, change of seasons, all who are affected by the natural world
• For peace and justice at any level (personal, relational, communal, societal)
• For endings AND beginnings, and the transitions in between
• jobs, employment
• relationships
• life passages
• any kind of journey
