The East Lansing Downtown Development Authority (DDA) announces a Request for Proposals (RFP) for East Lansing and Greater Lansing area artists interested in displaying their artwork in Downtown East Lansing. Selected artists will produce a print of original artwork and DDA will provide $250 to display the print. They will also cover the costs for installation of a 4’ x 6’ display panel of the art and marketing and promotion of artwork on social media. A total of eight artists will be selected. Artists may submit from one to three pieces of original artwork to be considered. Deadline: Sept. 16, 2022.

The City of East Lansing announces its 2022 East Lansing Photo Contest! They want to see some of your favorite spots in the community! Submit your best #EastLansing photos to the 2022 East Lansing Community Photo Contest! There are some great prizes up for grabs! Deadline: Oct. 16, 2022.

The DeWitt Downtown Development Authority (DDA) announces a call for proposals (RFP) for a work of art in the form of four functional, artistic benches to be located at the four corners just north of Main St. on Bridge St. The art pieces/benches are envisioned as being highly visible to both automobile and pedestrian traffic and adding to the unique character of the City of DeWitt and the downtown business district. The competition is open to all artists, architects and designers that live or work in the tri-County region of Clinton, Eaton and Ingham counties. Deadline: Oct. 3, 2022.

Northville Art House in Northville, Michigan, announces a call to artists for its "Small Works," juried, all media exhibition. Artists, 18 and over, may submit a maximum of six original works. Artwork must be created within the last five years, and not previously exhibited at the Art House. The maximum size of all artwork including the frame is 16” in any direction. Artwork is required to be for sale. Deadline: Sept. 11, 2022.

Heartland Artists in Plymouth, Indiana, announces a call to artists for the "34th Annual Juried Regional Art Exhibit." Open to artists in all media. Each entry must be the original concept and work of the artist, completed within the last two years and not previously shown in a Heartland Artist Regional Art Show. Fee is $20 per submission. Deadline: Sept. 18, 2022. 

The Midwest Center for Photography in Wichita, Kansas, seeks entries for its juried photography exhibition, "Greyscale." From subtle low contrast to high-key contrast within the range of values of a black and white photograph, the exhibition will represent photographs of a variety of different light and subject matter. From traditional film and darkroom photography to the digital imaging medium, they are searching to find those outstanding monochromatic greyscale photographs. Fee is $50. Deadline: Sept. 20, 2022.

Watermark Art Center in Bemidji, Minnesota, seeks entries for a juried ceramics exhibit. All work must be functional ceramics. Submitted works must be original and produced after January 2020. All entries must value $900 or less. If accepted, art must be prepared and ready for install/hanging. Fee is $10 per entry, maximum of four entries. Deadline: Sept. 30, 2022.

Wharton Center’s Institute for Arts & Creativity announces its inaugural Teaching Artist Institute from Sept. 15-17, 2022. This workshop is for emerging fine artists—performing and visual arts—who would like a thorough look at the profession of teaching artistry. This three-day session will be presented by Wharton guest facilitator Eric Booth. Participants will receive three days of workshops, lunch each day and a copy of Eric’s book "The Everyday Work of Art." The cost of the event is $40 and financial assistance is available. The Dots Between is offering a free course to a select number of artists. The course is a financial coaching program for those who have started to bring in more resources than ever before and need to establish the financial and business structures that will support their long-term career growth.
