TSAHC Closes First Short Term Land Bank Project
In January 2020 TSAHC launched a short term land banking pilot program to help local partners acquire properties quickly in competitive housing markets. This month TSAHC closed our first short term land bank project with Housing Channel, a nonprofit local partner serving the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area.

Housing Channel identified a property in Irving to develop an affordable townhome project but needed TSAHC's assistance land banking the property until the 60-90 day environmental clearance period was complete. TSAHC purchased the property and held it during the environmental review process. Once environmental clearance was obtained, Housing Channel purchased the property from TSAHC using federal HOME funds.

If you are interested in learning more about TSAHC's short term land banking process, please email Dave and Cassandra at actinfo@tsahc.org. Please note funds for this program are extremely limited.
