from the ptsa president

As September comes to an end, a lot is happening in Saxon Country. Langley encourages all students to become involved with service to the community. Today we held our first Saxon Service, organized by the PTSA Family Network Committee, during Langley Links. It afforded students an opportunity to help others and learn about being a good citizen, while earning service hours and socializing with friends. The PTSA cannot organize these events for our students without the help of parent volunteers. Please come out and volunteer for an hour at our next Saxon Service on Thurs, Oct 19.

The PTSA Appreciation Committee will be hosting a breakfast for the custodial and cafeteria staff to celebrate Custodian Appreciation Day on Mon, Oct 2. Contact sloandosser@gmail.com if you can help with this event.

In addition, the PTSA Hospitality Committee will be hosting a Fall Luncheon for teachers and staff on Fri, Oct 13 from 11:15 am-1:15 pm. Sponsored by the PTSA, this event is a great way to show our gratitude for everything the teachers and staff do for our kids. Any help you can offer on the day before and/or on the day of the event will be greatly appreciated! Sign up here to volunteer.

Class Parents have been very busy planning activities that bring their respective classes together. Keep an eye out for Class Parent Coffees and Dinners, which provide an opportunity to learn about important news and information, as well as a chance to socialize with other parents. The next Class Coffees will be as follows: Class of 2027 on Mon, Oct 2 and Class of 2025 on Thurs, Oct 5, at 9:30 am in the Lecture Hall. Keep up to date with class information by visiting the Langley PTSA website and the class page tabs,as well as class notes below.

Finally, note that now is the time to join the PTSA or renew your membership for this year if you have not already. Although additional donations are accepted and appreciated, it costs just $25 to become a member for the entire school year. It’s easy! Just click here to join online. Your membership supports many important initiatives, such as the ones described above.

Thank you for your help and engagement in the Langley community!

~ Joy Hohenthaner, PTSA President

We need 10 volunteers for each class period when the screening will occur. Sign up using this link. Training will be provided to all volunteers.
