faith
:
complete trust or confidence in someone or something
Many of us were domesticated and held captive within old forms of Christianity that ended up breaking our hearts.Bad theology, misogyny, abuse, and teachings that bred shame and division drove us away altogether. We lost trust and often closed our hearts in cynicism, anger and confusion. We had to break loose.
Yet, we have come to know something true and deep, and many of us found it in nature as well as in other teachings. We have learned about faith, about trust, about open hearts and being touched to our core by a Mystery far larger than ourselves. We still love the Divine. We know the earth is the bearer and manifestation of Sacredness.
Come join me in a simple, short morning time of contemplation in a quiet and sweet grove of redwoods; a true church. The Cosmic Dance calls us to take our place in the evolving universe. We can take heart from Thomas Merton,Teilhard de Chardin, Ilia Delio, Cynthia Bourgeault and so many more from the earth-loving Christian Mystical Contemplative Tradition.
Our time will include readings, silence together in this natural cathedral, prayer, listening.Come early or stay after to walk alone or in silence among these trees. All are welcome.
The world is holy. We are holy. All life is holy.
Daily prayers are delivered on the lips of breaking waves, the
whisperings of grasses, the shimmering of leaves.
