"Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it."
-Michael Jordan
School is back in session and for some of us, the off season is here. We all know that great players are made in the off season. Why not get a little help becoming great by coming to our camps and clinics or getting personal lessons from our coaches.
IT'S COMING to a WINERY NEAR YOU!

Border Youth Athletic Association is hosting an event that will have the members of your company team laughing, jumping, cheering, and running to beat the competition!

Expect great music from Dusty Low , food from Orange Cow , Joshua's Pie Wood Burning Pizza , wine from La Viña Winery , and more!

Do you think your company has what it takes to compete?
Our founder, Dr. Aboud, was inducted into the El Paso Baseball Hall of Fame. For the last 20 years, he has been working to bring baseball and softball to kids who would otherwise not have the chance to play.

BYAA was founded with the mission “to provide direction, guidance, instruction, and facilities and to maximize talents to achieve both educational and professional goals through baseball and softball.” Since 2000, that mission has been accomplished thanks to his programs such as BASE Play RBI, Chihuahuas NeXt, and our indoor training facility The BASE.

I n his speech, which you can watch on our El Paso Border Youth Athletic Association Facebook page, Dr. Aboud answers why he has spent his life working towards his goal of baseball and softball education.
Find out how you can help by visiting BorderYouth.org .
Kristi and Robyn were at the Globe Life Park in Arlington on behalf of BYAA to accept a grant from Globe Life & the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation. BYAA was one of 11 non-profits selected for this honor!

Thank you Globe Life & the Texas Rangers for helping promote our mission. Every Player Who Gets an Education WINS!

2018 All-Star Game

The Chihuahuas NeXt All-Star game, held at Southwest University Park, was another huge success! A total of 1,060 spectators were in attendance to see our Junior Varsity and Varsity All-Stars battle it out to see who the better team was in west Texas.

The Junior Varsity game brought fans an exciting back and forth game that ended in a National team victory.

The Varsity game brought some much needed, but not wanted, rain to our area. Thanks to the awesome young men on both teams running onto the field and grabbing the edges of the tarp to help the El Paso Chihuahuas groundskeepers, the field was saved from any potential water damage. The National team took the win for the Varsity game as well.
Registration in Clint ISD is open!

A big welcome to Desert Hills Elementary 4th and 5th grade as they gear up for the Fall 2018 season. Registration is moving fast. This year we expect 24 baseball and softball teams with 400 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students. BASE Play RBI kids will be learning academic accountability, the six pillars of character and how to succeed on the fields and in the classroom.

To kick off our season, Positive Coaching Alliance flew in from Houston with the support of Major League Baseball Youth Programs and provided training to over 50 BASE Play RBI coaches and parents. We are thrilled to have such an outstanding caliber of training to offer our service community.

What a great start to our 2018-2019 academic year!

Extra Innings with Sara Plourde
Hello El Paso! I am so excited to be back and starting workouts/lessons with the student athletes in the softball community! I hope you all have had an amazing summer spent on the diamond, with family and friends and laying back until school started up again!
We, the Canadian Softball Team, had quite an eventful and amazing summer traveling to and from California, Japan and British Columbia! We secured our title as 3rd in the world! Unfortunately, this is not enough to secure a spot at the Olympics YET, but you better believe we are all getting back to the grind to get stronger, faster, better than this past summer! 2019 will grant 2 more countries a spot at the Olympics, and this is our fight now.
Come join our College Prep Program at THE BASE or schedule workouts and we can chat more about what it takes to work towards your dreams and aspirations! You know where to find me! See you soon :)
