Sunday School and Sunday Evening Youth This Week

I'm so thankful for the strong start we had for Sunday School and gYg last week! Thank you to everyone who contributed and attended. Let's have another strong Sunday this Sunday! If you haven't come lately, jump back in! We're hoping to see you there.

Sunday school is at 9am in the youth room. We are using a curriculum called "Feasting on the Word" that uses activities, scripture, and questions to get us thinking about how faith and scripture impact our lives.

Sunday evening we'll have gYg at the church 5:00-7:00pm. We'll have games, dinner, and we'll continue on our study, "Friends for the Journey."

Friends are always welcome at Sunday School and gYg events.

gYg is for all youth grades 6-12.

Calendar of Events:

September 18: gYg 5-7pm at the church

September 25: Pumpkins arrive...all youth and parents needed to help unload: noon or as soon as the truck arrives (see pumpkin info below).

October 2: Church picnic following 10:15 worship service

October 9: gYg 5-7pm at the church (Presbytery meeting at the church in the afternoon, so bowling and laser pushed back one week...sorry for that change)

October 16: Bowling and/or Laser Tag in the afternoon (more info to come). Drivers will be needed.

October 23: gYg meeting and/or mission activity

October 30:  Grace Trunk-or-Treat, 4:00pm: Youth help with games for children.

Would You Be Willing to Provide a Meal for One of Our Meetings?

We rely on our youth families to help out by providing a meal for one of our meetings. If you are willing to do so for 10/9 or 10/23, please let me know. There will be more opportunities to help in the coming months. The meal can be store-bought or homemade. We need to be prepared for about 15 people and ready to eat at 5:30pm. Call or email to let me know you can help and with any questions: 803-517-3827, [email protected]

Pumpkin Patch

The Grace Pumpkin Patch is coming soon! This is a huge fundraiser for the church (mostly for the youth but for other projects as well) and your help is needed! Please plan to help us unload the 18-wheeler full of pumpkins and sign up to work shifts at the Pumpkin Patch selling pumpkins. The truck is scheduled to arrive on Sunday, September 25 at noon, but as we know from years past that is really just an estimate. It might arrive later that day or even the following day. If the truck is late we will use Remind to share updates.

Please sign up to work shifts at the Pumpkin Patch here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0E45A8A82EAAFBC25-grace

We'd like for each youth to plan to work at least 2 shifts in the patch.

If a parent can be there with the youth, please sign the parent up as well so we will know we have an adult there.

If you have never worked the patch before we'll train you. It's easy!

For every shift our youth work at the Pumpkin Patch they earn $25 off of the cost of summer activities such as Montreat Youth Conference or the Youth Mission Trip (all still in the planning stages).

New Remind App Groups

We started fresh with new Remind groups this fall. If you haven't, please subscribe to the youth and/or parent Remind groups to get reminders and updates on upcoming events.
