SBCTA's 7th Annual Business 2 Business Expo scheduled for October 29th at the Ontario Convention Center, will connect prime and subcontractors for future teaming opportunities, enhance awareness of local labor, and educate prospective bidders on contracting opportunities. Redlands Passenger Rail Groundbreaking Event

Last month, SBCTA officially launched the construction phase of the $355.4 million dollar Redlands Passenger Rail Project with a ceremonial groundbreaking event held in downtown Redlands, adjacent to the historic Redlands Santa Fe Depot. SBCTA President, Darcy McNaboe along with a number of local elected, State and Federal dignitaries welcomed attendees to celebrate the groundbreaking of this important project and the hard work of the project team to make it a reality. The project has been more than ten years in the making and will feature new tracks, enhance street crossings, quiet zones, and improved stations.

Governor’s Representatives Meet with SBCTA Staff

Members of the SBCTA executive staff met with representatives from Governor Newsom’s Office of Planning & Research and the Office of Business and Economic Development to discuss the Governor’s new Regions Rise Together initiative.

The program is reaching out to leaders in both the public and private sectors from the state’s inland regions to develop an economic strategy that will help ensure that California’s future prosperity is not centered along the coastal regions, but more evenly distributed throughout the entire state.

Metrolink Parking Lot Slurry Seal Project

The parking lot at the Rancho Cucamonga Metrolink station will receive a needed facelift during the month of August. The City of Rancho Cucamonga will use a method called slurry seal to restore the existing asphalt and remove cracks throughout the parking lot. In addition to improving the look and feel of the parking surface the process will extend the life of the pavement by an additional 5-8 years and reduce the need for costly repairs in the future.

SBCTA Staff Volunteers for Omnitrans’ Adop-A-Stop

Last week, SBCTA volunteered for the Omnitrans’ Adopt-A-Stop program. This program allows local businesses, agencies, community groups and private citizens to adopt a bus stop within the San Bernardino Valley. The program requires a one-year commitment to clean up a bus stop on a weekly basis that will enhance cleanliness and the appearance of our local community.
