55-Hour Full-Freeway Closures Coming to State Route 210 in 2023

Starting late-February 2023, crews will begin a series of six 55-hour full-freeway closures on State Route (SR) 210 as part of the SR 210 Lane Addition and Base Line Interchange Project. These closures will be taken one direction at a time over select weekends. The closures will allow crews to safely perform paving operations on eastbound (EB) and westbound (WB) SR 210 at the on- and off-ramp junctures of the San Bernardino Avenue interchange.

Caltrans Outlines Emergency Operations Plan

Caltrans District 8 representatives presented an outline of their Emergency Operations Plan at the SBCTA Mountain/Desert Policy Committee meeting in November. The Emergency Operations Plan coordinates Caltrans’ actions in the event of a disaster. The plan covers the district’s preparedness, response and short-term recovery efforts, including areas such as administration, operations, construction, design, environmental, planning, communications and maintenance.

SBCTA and RCTC Welcome the California Transportation Commission

At the December California Transportation Commission (CTC) meeting in Riverside, San Bernardino County Transportation Authority Executive Director Ray Wolfe and Riverside County Transportation Commission Executive Director Anne Mayer welcomed Commissioners to the Inland Empire and presented a brief video highlighting the various projects throughout the region. They also acted as tour guides for the Commissioners and staff, U.S. Department of Transportation and Caltrans officials on helicopter tours to showcase the challenges we face from a transportation perspective. The tour was well received and should greatly amplify our message when we are requesting funding and policy adjustments.
