SBCTA / LA Metro to Study Expanding Rail Frequency from Redlands to LA Union Station

At the July 5, 2023 meeting, the SBCTA Board of Directors approved moving forward with a cost-sharing agreement with Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA Metro) to have the Southern California Regional Rail Authority (SCRRA/Metrolink) conduct a study on extending multiple-unit rail vehicle service from the University of Redlands to Union Station in the City of Los Angeles.

SR 210 Lane Addition and Baseline Interchange Project Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

On Friday, July 21, 2023, SBCTA will celebrate the completion of the SR 210 Lane Addition and Base Line Interchange Project.


The project, which broke ground in February 2020, is entering its final months of construction. Crews have striped the SR 210 lanes to their final configuration between Del Rosa Avenue and the I-10 freeway, adding one mixed-flow lane in each direction between Highland Avenue and San Bernardino Avenue, auxiliary lanes (merge lanes) between Base Line and 5th Street/Greenspot Road, and an acceleration lane at the 5th Street/Greenspot Road eastbound ramp.

VVTA Partners with San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department for “Safe Rides”

The Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station will now have a team comprised of one sergeant and four deputies assigned to the Victor Valley Transit Division. 


The team will work directly with the Victor Valley Transit Authority (VVTA) to enhance the safety of passengers and drivers. Passengers will see deputies riding the buses, as well as monitoring activity at bus stops and the Victor Valley Transportation Center.
