IE Commuter Gains Recognition for Rideshare Incentive Program Outreach

At the California Association of Public Information Officials (CAPIO) annual conference, held in early May 2023, the IE Commuter team from the Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC) and the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) was honored with a CAPIO Epic Award for their public outreach efforts for expanding ridesharing in the Inland Empire. Receiving a CAPIO award for outreach is a coveted prize in California and represents the best of the best throughout the state.

The San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) uses a website that is designed to provide the public with up-to-date information about the agency as well as a variety of administrative elements of the organization. The site has become the primary portal for the public to stay connected with the SBCTA Board of Directors meetings, procurement opportunities, project details and public outreach materials, planning documents, financial reports, and calendar details.

Freeway Service Patrol Drivers Recognized

At the May Board of Directors meeting, Board members recognized drivers who serve in SBCTA’s Freeway Service Patrol (FSP) Program.  The FSP Program began in January of 2006 and consists of a fleet of tow trucks that travel on selected San Bernardino County freeways during peak periods of congestion to assist motorists with their disabled cars. The program has demonstrated many benefits to the public by reducing the amount of time a motorist is in an unsafe condition and reducing traffic congestion. FSP drivers patrol more than 95 freeway miles along Interstates 10, 15 and 215, as well as State Routes 60 and 210.

RFP Released for Express Lanes Program Support Services

In March 2019, San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) kicked off the Interstate 10 (I-10) Corridor Express Lanes Project - Contract 1 (Project) design-build effort. A Project and Construction Management (PCM) consultant team manages the design and construction of the Project on behalf of SBCTA. The PCM team includes toll experts responsible for the development and implementation of the toll collection system for the Project.
