Celebrating the Beginning: West Valley Connector Project Groundbreaking Ceremony

On Thursday, October 12, SBCTA in partnership with Omnitrans, marked the start of construction on the West Valley Connector (WVC) Project with a groundbreaking ceremony in the City of Ontario. The San Bernardino Council of Governments (SBCOG) is leading a Smart County Master Plan (SCMP) that will provide a roadmap for improving the region’s communications and technology infrastructure to better serve the county’s growing technology needs. The regional approach is meant to share information and break down silos in an effort to serve residents in all sub-regions and jurisdictions.

North First Avenue Bridge

SBCTA, in cooperation with the City of Barstow and Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railroad, is leading the construction effort to replace the existing North First Avenue Bridge. The bridge has served as a critical lifeline for the City of Barstow and the surrounding community and serves as the main thoroughfare to essential services such as schools and hospitals as well as Fort Irwin.

Metrolink San Bernardino Line Track Closure November 11-12

Due to maintenance and rehabilitation projects on Saturday and Sunday, November 11-12, San Bernardino Line service will not operate between Montclair and San Bernardino-Downtown. Arrow service will also not be operating. Unfortunately, due to the lack of bus operators, alternate bus transportation will NOT be available.
