In-Person Board and Committee Meetings
Last week, SBCTA held its first in-person Board of Directors Meeting since March of 2020. The Board has also made the decision for meetings to remain in-person moving forward. All SBCTA meetings are recorded and posted on SBCTA’s website on the Meetings & Agenda tab for those who cannot participate in person
Safety for the traveling public is paramount, especially when traveling within a construction zone. However, various construction activities cannot be performed with moving traffic nearby, requiring crews to close local streets, on- and off-ramps or freeway lanes to allow crews to perform necessary work.
SBCTA’s Director of Legislative and Public affairs, Otis Greer and Chief of Legislative and Public Affairs, Tim Watkins introduced the future of workforce to the transportation at a first-of-its-kind career pathways program on October 2 in Fontana. “Planes, Trains & Autonomous Vehicles” is bringing together a cohort of Fontana high school juniors and seniors every Saturday in October to inspire them to consider careers in transportation.
CONFIRE and the San Bernardino Council of Governments (SBCOG) are collaborating with jurisdictions throughout San Bernardino County to educate the public about the Emergency Nurse Communication System (ECNS) program.

ECNS is an innovative program that was implemented in 2019 where dispatch operators work alongside trained Registered Nurses stationed in the County’s 9-1-1 call center network to quickly assess the level of response required for medical calls.
We are excited to continue with our 3rd Annual State of Transportation discussion this year on Oct. 28, 2021. SBCTA B2B will be back in 2022!
