3 things to know

1. Volunteers needed! Ethics Day is an incredible opportunity for our seniors to explore tough issues before graduating and going out into the world, giving them the tools they need to be ethical leaders. Underclassmen parents, pay it forward by volunteering for this event. Parents can learn more about this valuable experience for our students below. Click here to volunteer.

2. The PTSA nominating committee is currently hard at work finding volunteers to help execute PTSA programming next year. We have over 60 different opportunities to get involved. Contact Sara Koenig at saranapkoenig@gmail.com if you are interested!

3. Save the date! The PTSA will host our Dranesville School Board Representative Robyn Lady at our Mar 26 General Meeting. Join us for 8:30 am Coffee and 9 am for the meeting

ethics day volunteers needed

We need you! Ethics Day is an incredible opportunity for our students to explore ethical decision making. We need volunteers to help organize the event and to be table leaders at the event, which is Mar 20. Use the SignUpGenius to volunteer and feel free to share the link with others. If you can help in advance of the event, contact Danica Alink at danica.alink@hotmail.com.

ptsa chess tournament

On Saturday the PTSA hosted the first Langley Chess Tournament. The tournament boasted over 35 players across all sections and more importantly, we raised over $1400 to support Share of McLean, a nonprofit organization that provides food and clothing to people in need.

For many players, including many of Langley’s own, it was their first rated tournament and they really enjoyed the experience. Trophies and medals were awarded to the top finishing participants.

Special thanks to event chair Shilpa Vaidya and PTSA Events Chair Stefanie Stayin for making this event happen.

parking at langley

Parents, remind your students to park in their designated spaces to avoid fines and towing. Vehicles without permits continue to receive tickets; vehicles with multiple tickets will be towed. Principal Stroud aims to open up additional permitted spaces for junior students once the parking situation improves.

no food deliveries

Reminder: Students are not allowed to receive food deliveries during the school day due to security concerns. If a student needs food, they can contact their counselor, cafeteria staff or an administrator for assistance.
