Google Embraces AI-Powered Search

The DL: As Google embraces AI-powered search with features like AI Mode and AI Overviews, the tech giant is adapting its traditional search advertising to fit this new landscape. Advertisers can expect ads to remain clearly distinguishable from organic results, with familiar pricing models like cost-per-click and cost-per-acquisition still in play. Recognizing that keyword-based strategies are becoming less effective in the age of conversational search, Google has introduced AI Max for Search campaigns. YouTube Showing Strong Results

The DL: YouTube sees stronger results compared to other media companies in TV viewing share. It was YouTube’s third straight month at the top of the chart. They are up 29% from a year ago. DL: There is no doubt that Google Search is changing in a big way. This is likely the biggest change Google Search ever made in its history, it is bigger than the universal search change in 2007, bigger than featured snippets and even bigger than AI Overviews. AI Mode, which is fully live in the U.S. and coming to more countries and regions soon, is the biggest change to Google Search ever. Google must change. Google isn’t going to keep its search engine the way it was for the past two decades. Google knows it has to change, despite them making an absolute fortune from search ads. Google is worried about TikTok, ChatGPT, and about searchers going to something new and better.
