Meta's "Value Rules" for Ad-Targeting

The DL: Meta's newly expanded “Value Rules” feature gives advertisers enhanced control over their ad targeting by allowing them to adjust bids based on specific audience characteristics like age, gender, location, device, and placement. This tool helps advertisers prioritize high-value customer segments, such as those more likely to make larger purchases, by increasing or decreasing bid values accordingly. However, advertisers must carefully structure rules in order to avoid overlap issues and should be prepared for the potential of increased cost-per-result. While Meta’s AI-driven Advantage+ targeting is improving and may offer more efficient automation, Value Rules offer valuable customization when backed by solid business data. For advertisers, this matters because it allows for smarter budget allocation and improved return on ad spend (ROAS) by honing in on the most profitable audiences. Testing both Value Rules and AI options could help determine which approach yields better performance.

Ad Automation Powers Reddit

The DL: Reddit is giving advertisers what they want: more easy buttons. Thanks, in part, to its investments in campaign automation, new ad products and white glove service for top advertiser clients, Reddit netted an 84% year-over-year increase. What explains Reddit’s impressive growth? Its responsiveness to advertiser demands for greater ease of use and more integrations with third-party ad tech. In terms of adding new ad inventory, Reddit added new Dynamic Product Ads (DPAs), which are now out of beta testing. On the performance front, Reddit’s acquisition of creative optimization platform Memorable AI last August is making it easier for brands to optimize their campaigns. Reddit also introduced its Community Intelligence engine at Cannes Lions, which draws on the platform’s pool of billions of human conversations to help marketers improve their ad campaigns. Reddit’s conversion API (CAPI) is also encouraging performance advertisers to increase budgets. Reddit’s platform is semi-automated but “end-to-end" automation is on their radar. While there’s a lot for Reddit investors to be encouraged about on the advertising front, the platform is also one of the biggest beneficiaries of the rise of AI search, thanks to its close partnership with Google and growing relationships with other AI companies.

Amazon Prime Video's Ad Revenue

The DL: Amazon Prime Video is quickly gaining ground in the connected TV ad market, with ad revenue projected to surpass YouTube’s by 2027.

As more viewers shift from traditional cable to ad supported streaming, marketers have greater opportunities to reach fragmented audiences. Amazon’s deep shopper data and built-in Fire TV ecosystem offer a powerful, brand-safe platform for targeted advertising.

ChatGPT Reaches 700 Million

DL: OpenAI’s ChatGPT is on track to reach 700 million weekly users. More users mean potentially more ad-buying on the platform. ChatGPT currently does not have a traditional ad model. But OpenAI is exploring different revenue streams including adding advertising is a future possibility. This will help keep services fees down. OpenAI is set to release GPT-5 sometime this summer. This AI system will incorporate distinct models and can perform different functions as opposed to just one AI model. They are working to simplify its offerings. Market intelligence recently reported people are using ChatGPT for more than 12 days a month on average, only behind Google and X. Adobe Express also released numbers, but there is a bit of a dip when it comes to trust. 54% of people said they choose to search on ChatGPT because the tool can summarize complex topics quickly. 82% preferred using ChatGPT for creative, open-ended questions, and 77% reported that the results felt more personalized than Google’s results.
