Paris Olympics Break NBC Ad Revenue Records

The DL: NBCUniversal has set a new record for Olympic advertising revenue with the 2024 Paris Olympics, beating the $1.25 billion made during the Tokyo Games. GEO vs. SEO: Navigating the New Search Landscape

The DL: GEO, or "generative engine optimization," is the process of optimizing your website’s content to improve its visibility in AI-driven search engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, and Google AI Overviews. As search habits change, making sure your brand is easily found in AI-generated responses is crucial for digital marketing success. It's not just about being seen; it's about connecting with potential customers, clients, and audiences in meaningful ways, no matter where they start their search.

While traditional SEO has helped brands get noticed on search engines like Google and Bing, GEO is changing how brands appear on AI-driven platforms. AI is altering the landscape of organic search, requiring businesses to rethink their marketing strategies. Traditional SEO alone isn’t enough anymore. Brands need to integrate GEO into their strategies to effectively capture and retain user attention on AI-driven platforms.

It reaches 90.4% of US digital video viewers and is the top smartphone app. Nearly 90% of US Gen Zers use YouTube, making it essential for brands targeting this age group. Instagram 'Notes' are Taking Over Reels

The DL: Instagram is testing a new "Notes" filter in the Reels tab, which shows only Reels with Notes to encourage more engagement. This feature, available to some users, adds a "Notes" option alongside the "For You" and "Nearby" feeds. Notes, introduced earlier this month, let users comment on Reels and posts for three days, but only mutual followers can leave Notes. While reactions are mixed, Notes are very popular with young users, especially teens, who create them at ten times the rate of older users. Instagram aims to keep these younger users and compete with TikTok by expanding and integrating Notes further into the platform.
