The DL: Reddit has introduced updated user profiles aimed at giving visitors more context and users greater control over their visibility. The new design includes an activity summary, subreddit engagement stats, and optional social media links, while also making it easier to see what communities someone is active in. To balance privacy, Reddit now lets users curate what appears on their profile, including hiding activity in specific subreddits. However, subreddit moderators will still have access to a user’s full activity history for 28 days after any interaction, regardless of these settings. For advertisers, this update offers more nuanced user data and clearer community affiliations, potentially enhancing audience targeting and influencer partnerships within the Reddit ecosystem.

The DL: The traditional marketing funnel is quickly being rewritten – not by a consumer trend but by a shift in how machines process and recommend information. We have entered the era of agentic AI, where autonomous software agents are powered by large language models (LLMs) that research, evaluate and recommend products on behalf of consumers. Today, 86% of Google searches already include generative elements. Gartner predicts a 25% drop in traditional search volume as AI search ascends. In this new paradigm, ranking number one in search is no longer the goal. Instead, your brand must be embedded in the answer itself. This new dynamic is already catalyzing a shift from traditional SEO to generative engine optimization (GEO) – the discipline of ensuring your brand, product or service is favorably represented in AI-generated outputs.
GEO is not about keyword-stuffing or link-building. It’s about narrative authority: crafting and distributing high-quality, context-rich content that LLMs can confidently use to answer queries.

| | Gen Z: What Marketers Need to Know |
| | The DL: Gen Z consumes media differently than anyone before them. Nearly all watch digital video, but their preferences run counter to traditional models. They favor: user-generated content over professional productions, algorithm-curated feeds over subscription services, and short-form video platforms like TikTok. Multi-platform engagement, often using several screens simultaneously with attention spans for advertising have shortened dramatically, requiring brands to capture interest within seconds. The old model of interruption marketing falls flat with this audience. By 2025, Gen Z is expected to outnumber millennials on Instagram, with a 72.5% penetration rate. Their platform preferences reveal distinct patterns. They discover products primarily through social media (especially TikTok and Instagram) and they’re less prone to impulse buying than previous generations. They prioritize sustainability, with many checking secondhand options first. They also expect seamless omnichannel experiences that blend digital and physical. Authenticity is non-negotiable – they value real people, genuine endorsements, and brands that transparently live their values.
