Recently, a FedHealth IT article summarized the recent U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Section 508 Report to Congress and the President - Accessibility of Federal Electronic and Information Technology report and they both conclude that there is more work to be done. One major issue is the need for both automated and manual accessibility testing. Automated is not the complete answer because no tool can locate all types of accessibility issues.

  • iAccessible's team provides stratified sampling to detect Section 508 issues. This helps you prioritize your manual testing and remediation
  • iAccessible can scan your PDFs on your site and produce reports on where the documents are, the types, number and severity of the issues found.
  • iAccessible can detect website readability and usability!

Highlights from the DOJ report:

“90% of Internet web pages tested are reported as conformant, but with the removal of only one agency’s automated test results, conformance drops to 70%"
"Just 41% of internal agency websites are fully accessible to people with disabilities."
"Two-thirds of PDFs that agencies publish are also not easily accessible for people with disabilities"
