WOMEN'S MEET & GREET - You are invited to a Meet & Greet in the east connector to learn more about the United Methodist Women on Sunday, August 25 after either worship service. Representative from each group will be on hand with information about their groups activities.

UNITED METHODIST MEN MEETING - September 1 at 7:30 AM - Fellowship Hall - Our speaker will be Adam Waller, Director of Community Relations for the Pat Summit Foundation which just gave a grant to out CADES Program. CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUP MEETING - Tuesday, September 3 at 10 AM in Room E-224 - Alex Carmack, Programs Manager of Alzheimer's Association, will speak on "Resolving Family Conflict".

PROJECT LINUS - September 4 at 6 PM, Room 207 - It’s back to school and back to blanket-making with our Concord United Linus group! Join us for a fold-n-sew quilt demonstration and learn more about our work in the community. We have something for crafters of all skill levels. Materials are also available to help get you started. COME CELEBRATE! Join us in September as we celebrate the ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY of our United in Recovery service!!! During September we will have guest speakers on each Monday night (Sept. 9, 16, 23 & 30) to encourage each of us as we journey together. Start thinking about who you need to invite.

CONNECT TO CONCORD – If you are new to Concord or not currently connected to another class, join us for this four-week class to learn more about this faith community and its ministries. Classes begin September 8 – 30, in Room 202-203 from 9:50 – 10:45 and are led by the pastoral team.

FALL BREAK MISSION TRIP, October 6 - 12 - Join Missions as we travel to Port St Joe, FL to help in recovery efforts from Hurricane Michael that devastated the area last October. Most work will be interior repairs. We need skilled crafts persons, team leaders and persons willing to learn how to complete projects under the guidance of others. More info and registration:

KIDS HOPE MENTORS NEEDED - Do you love kids? Do you believe that every child needs to feel important? Did you know you can help make a difference in a child’s life by just donating an hour of your week to one child during the school year? Through Kids Hope you can help make that difference for one child by giving them one hour a week. Training is done online and there are people to help you through every step as you help to improve the life of a child. We are currently looking to add to our team of mentors. If you are interested, please contact Heather Hayes at After a quick initial interview with our team leaders you can begin training online and be with a child in September. Please consider becoming the part of a child’s life by joining today!

BOWLING LEAGUE - Concord UMC has been hosting a bowling league for over 40 years. This league is open to anyone that wants to enjoy a family fun-filled evening. We meet Thursday evenings at 6:00 PM and will begin September 5 at Family Bowl, Sherway Road in West Knoxville. No experience necessary. If you don’t have a current picture, the church will have a photo booth set up on Sundays. You can update your info on the form provided at the info desks or at the photo booth or go online to .

Also, watch for a letter in your home mailbox with additional information and a form to update your info. Start emailing- or bring in your picture to the church office.

If you don't update your picture, please know that your last directory picture will be included in the church directory database.
