BED BUILD VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED – Saturday, August 29

We're hosting our second Bed Build on Saturday, August 29, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the West Parking Lot, and we'd love to have you join us.

The best part? You don't need any building experience. Sleep in Heavenly Peace provides all the lumber, tools, equipment, and step-by-step instruction. Whether you've never held a drill or you're a master carpenter, there's a place for you. Just bring your enthusiasm and a heart to serve.

This is a great opportunity for the whole family to make a difference together. Volunteers must be at least 5 years old, and children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

We'll keep everyone fueled with pizza for lunch, and we'll have water available throughout the day. Just bring a refillable water bottle.

Every board you sand, every screw you drive, and every bed you help build gives a child a safe and comfortable place to sleep. That's a pretty amazing way to spend a Saturday. Please invite others to join you.

SERVING OTHERS

JARS NEEDED

Missions is collecting jars to use for canning apple butter that will be made in November. Sizes needed are half pint, pint or wide mouth quart jar. You can bring them to the missions office or leave them on the silver food pantry racks. Thanks!

MOBILIZING KNOXVILLE – This Saturday, August 29

Mobilizing Knoxville hosts monthly workdays where minor car repairs (including oil changes) are completed for free or at low-cost for approved clients. PROJECT LINUS AT CONCORD UNITED

Project Linus resumes on Wednesday, September 2 at 5 PM in Room 59! Project Linus provides handmade blankets to children 0-18 who are facing illness, trauma or loss. Join us this fall on the 1st Wednesday evening each month ahead of CCN dinner and worship.  We will share a sewing demonstration, devotional, and all the beautiful blankets completed this summer.  Please contact LeighAnna Colgrove at leighanna.colgrove@yahoo.com for more info.

CONNECT TO GOD AND CONCORD - Fall 2026 - Are you new to Concord or looking to deepen your with Jesus and get more spiritually connected? We’d love to invite you to Connect to God and Concord, a five-week group designed to help you take your next step.

Our next Connect to God and Concord group meets Sundays from 10:00 to 10:50 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall, beginning Sunday, August 23.

Together, we’ll tour the church campus, learn about Concord’s mission, vision, and history, and discover meaningful ways to share Christ, serve others, and grow in your faith. The fall session will conclude with a group luncheon hosted on Sunday, September 20.

SOUL SISTERS SMALL GROUP - Soul Sisters is a special group of ladies that meets weekly on Thursdays. Over the past 20 years this group has studied different books of the Bible, women of the Bible and many different Biblical themes. A new session of Soul Sisters will begin September 10, Room 196, at 10:00 a.m. Our fall study is “The Heart of the Psalms God’s Word to the World” by James C. Howell. We will be reading the book along with watching a short video. The book will be available during class on September 10. The cost of the book is $10.00. CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUP - 1st Tuesday of each month - 10AM-12PM - Room 145 - This support group is affiliated with Alzheimer's TN, Inc. and is dedicated to providing education, fellowship, and support for those giving care to a loved one. CHANCEL CHOIR REHEARSAL MOVING NIGHTS - Chancel Choir rehearsals are moving to Thursday nights at 6:30 beginning August 13. If there is anyone who has been interested in singing with the Chancel Choir, but has had conflicts on Wednesday nights, this is a great time to try it out. There are never any auditions, and new folks are always welcome. Just see Mike if there are any questions or anyone would like more info.
