FOOD PANTRY – Christmas Food Baskets

Cranberry Sauce, Yams, (28 oz cans)), Brown Sugar. We need many donations of these three items to meet our goal. Additionally, we’re collecting: Brownie Mix, Stuffing Mix, Turkey Gravy Mix, Green Beans, Boxed Mashed Potatoes, Vegetable Oil, and Reusable Shopping Bags. Because the need for food is so great, we are expanding our collection beyond our holiday items. We suggest easy to prepare items: canned soup, canned vegetables, canned meat, cereal (no sugar added), macaroni and cheese, pasta, canned spaghetti sauce, peanut butter, canned beans, dry beans, rice, canned fruit, boxed potatoes, jelly (plastic squeeze bottles), pancake mix, syrup (plastic bottles) or any shelf stable food you would like to provide.

If you are not already participating in a group study this Advent, we invite you to spend a Sunday morning with The Redemption of Scrooge group! This short-term Advent group engages in discussion discovering the teachings of Jesus within the words of the Charles Dickens classic, A Christmas Carol. Sunday mornings (December 7, 14, 21), 10:00-10:50am in Room 243 above the Worship Center.

Optional books are available for $10 at the Information Center (between the Worship Center and Sanctuary), or as an eBook on Amazon. If you need help accessing your copy, please email resources@concordunited.org.

CHRISTMAS EVE MORNING PRAYER

Join us Christmas Eve morning, December 24, at 10:00am in the Connector, as we prepare for our Christmas Eve services through prayer. We will pray over the pews in the Sanctuary and the chairs in the Worship Center during this time. Anyone is welcome to join us for this prayer time. Come as a group, as a family, with friends, or as individuals. No sign-up is necessary; just show up. For more information, contact Pastor Brooke at bhartman@concordunited.org.

COMMUNITY CARE NIGHT - December 10

Join us for A Concord Family Christmas! This special event will take place in the Worship Center during CCN on Wednesday, December 10 from 6:30-7pm. We will spend an evening as one big Concord UMC Family as we prepare our hearts for the birth of Jesus through a reading of Luke 2 accompanied by an intergenerational Nativity Pageant and Christmas Hymn sing-along. After the Pageant, we will then spend time in fellowship as we enjoy Christmas Cookies and Milk together. Come as you are or come dressed in your favorite Christmas attire! Free dinner from 5:30-6:20.

COMMUNITY CARE NIGHT - December 17

Join us for an annual service held during the holiday season to recognize that, while this time often celebrates joy and hope, it can also highlight our losses and grief. We all have a story—and that story matters. Whatever you are carrying, this is a safe space to name your pain, remember what’s been lost, surrender your story, and trust that God can still redeem all things. Join us for worship, candle lighting, and a time to let God meet us in the middle of our grief story. Come early for a free dinner served 5:30-6:20PM.
