ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICES - February 26 - Noon and 6:00 PM - Each year, Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent and is always 46 days before Easter Sunday. Lent is a 40-day season (not counting Sundays) marked by repentance, fasting, reflection, and ultimately celebration. The 40-day period represents Christ’s time of temptation in the wilderness, where he fasted and where Satan tempted him. Lent asks believers to set aside a time each year by focusing the Christian’s heart on repentance and prayer, usually through personal and communal confession. The noon Ash Wednesday service will be in the Studio (upstairs in the East Building). The evening service is at 6:00 in the Sanctuary. Both will have a time of prayer, music, short message and the imposition of ashes.
