SERVING OTHERS
 

JARS NEEDED

It’s time for missions to start planning to make our apple butter and we need to collect jars. The sizes we need are half pint, pint and wide mouth quart jars. You can bring them to the missions office or leave on the silver food pantry racks. Thanks!

 

HOUSING NEEDED

A couple associated with Concord United is in need of local housing at an affordable rate. A studio or one bedroom is sufficient. If you have rental property or know of any in the West Knoxville area, please contact missions by emailing Missions@concordunited.org


AUGUST PANTRY LIST

Requested pantry items: Canned chicken, Canned vegetables, Cereal (no sugar coating), Pasta, Canned spaghetti sauce (no glass jars), Dish soap . Drop off on the silver rack in the connector or outside the Worship Center under the covered drive. And you can always help with a financial donation at ConcordUnited.org/give and select Food Pantry or with a check with Food Pantry in the memo line. Thanks for helping support our pantry.

Come visit the Fellowship Hall this Sunday as we gather adults of all ages and stages of faith to Share Christ. This Sunday, we will consider growing in faith through the lens of these three questions:

 

  • What gives you hope as you think about the future of the church?
  • What kind of faith do you hope to have later in life?
  • What does it mean to "finish well" in faith?

 

We invite you to join us for a hot cup of coffee or tea and multi-generational discipleship! 

CALLING ALL MEN - Breakfast and Small Group this Sunday!

The United Methodist Men (UMM) Breakfast and the Calling All Men Sunday Connect group will meet this Sunday, August 2. Breakfast is served in the Fellowship Hall at 7:45am and Sunday Connect meets in Room 243 above the Worship Center at 10am. Please contact Chuck Parmele by phone or email at (865) 414-4463 (parmelecc@aol.com) if you'd like to be included in the breakfast headcount.


COMMUNITY CARE NIGHT - August 6

Join us for an evening of Appalachian Music as Jessica Watson and her friends return for a night of Worship on Wednesday, August 5, from 6:30-7:30pm in the Worship Center. Jessica and friends share the music of hymns and songs through the sounds of the guitar, banjo, fiddle, and more.  Free meal from 5:30-6:20 (Ravioli and Garlic Bread).  

Rock the Block Serving Opportunities


Be part of Concord’s largest annual community event, Rock the Block, on Wednesday, August 12. Each of us has a role in making Rock the Block possible. Pray for the event, sign up to serve, invite others to join you, pick up an invitation card to share, and spread the word through social media posts.
