SERVING OTHERS

CONFERENCE SERVICE OPORTUNITY

Another opportunity to serve is working on a new build home. A single mother and her child in Corryton, TN had a tree fall on their home, destroying it. Holston Conference Disaster Response Services has coordinated efforts to clear the home, provide temporary accommodations for the family, and raise funds to rebuild. All the exterior work has been finished. It is all interior work now. They can use skilled and unskilled workers. Work is anticipated to continue throughout June so you can begin as soon as this week. No tools are necessary - they have everything needed on site, but you can bring your favorite tools if you have some you prefer. All volunteers are asked to bring their own lunch. If you can help, contact Mark Hicks, (865) 248-9892 and let him know which days you are available. The address for this new home construction is 7621 Walter Road, Corryton, TN, let’s help compete this home. Youth (12 yrs+) and their parents are invited to help; all other workers must be 18 years and older. If you need more information, please contact Jane Currin at jcurrin@concordunited.org.
