JUSTICE KNOX MEETING – Tuesday, April 13

Justice Knox is a community-wide initiative that brings together congregations and organizations across Knoxville to address some of the city’s most pressing challenges. For more information, please go to: https://justiceknox.org/. One of the key moments in this work is the Nehemiah Action Meeting, where community members gather to present researched solutions to local decision-makers and ask for concrete commitments. This gathering is a powerful opportunity for residents to stand together and advocate for positive change, and WE NEED YOUR HELP! Our only requirement is to fill seats. The meeting is totally non-confrontational and will include celebrating the successes that we have had with the current leadership in Knoxville. The meeting will take place on April 13, 2026, from 7:00–8:30 pm at the Civic Auditorium (doors open at 6:00 pm). Cokesbury UMC will provide busing for anyone interested, but you must register with Dustin Russell prior to April 2. Anyone wishing to attend can join Cokesbury for free pizza and drinks at 5:00 pm, with buses leaving Cokesbury’s North Campus at 5:30 pm sharp. For more information or to sign up, please contact Dustin Russell by email at russelldu@yahoo.com or call 865-805-4534

CONNECT TO GOD AND CONCORD

Are you looking to deepen your relationship with Jesus and get more connected at Concord? We’d love to invite you to Connect to God and Concord, a five-week group designed to help you take your next step.

Our next Connect to God and Concord group meets Sundays from 10:00 to 10:50 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall, beginning Sunday, April 19.

Together, we’ll tour the church campus, learn about Concord’s mission, vision, and history, and discover meaningful ways to share Christ, serve others, and grow in your faith. The spring session will conclude with a group luncheon hosted on Sunday May 17

Whether you’re new to Concord or ready to get more involved, we invite you to come connect, learn, and take your next steps with us.

For more information, or to register for the group, visit concordunited.org/adults.

March 25 – Prayer Service with Song, Scripture, and Prayer.

Wednesday evenings is a time we gather across generations in community to connect with God and others, through a meal, worship, and groups. Lent is a great time to connect through Community Care Night. A free meal is served from 5:30-6:20pm weekly. There is no better place to connect with others than at the dinner table.

55+ CRAFTS & LUNCH - March 30, Noon-2PM - Register at Concordunited.org/events

ARE YOU SEEKING DEEPER CONNECTION INTO A FAITH COMMUNITY, BUT NOT SURE WHAT TO TRY NEXT? You are not alone! Join us on Sundays at 10am for “Sunday Open Door” in the Fellowship Hall. Sunday Open Door is a friendly and relaxed space to explore faith, ask questions, and be in community without any commitments. Childcare is provided, so come enjoy a hot cup of coffee, get to know someone new, and experience how amazing your life changes when you choose to follow God alongside others.

THIS & THAT

WHEELCHAIRS NEEDED

If you have a church wheelchair that you borrowed and no longer need, please return it.

If you have a wheelchair you would like to donate, we would be very grateful. All of our wheelchairs are currently loaned out, and there are still people who need one.

BIBLE COLLECTION - EAGLE SCOUT PROJECT

Bibles of any translation, new or used, are being collected for Ensley Griffin's Eagle Scout Project. Boxes will be available by the metal racks in the East Corridor or you may drop the Bibles in the church office during the week. Collecting through Sunday, March 29.

SERVING OPPORTUNITY

WOULD YOU BE WILLING TO TIDY UP THE SANCTUARY BEFORE SUNDAY WORSHIP?

The Altar Guild is responsible for picking up any items out of place in the Sanctuary, straightening the hymnals and Bibles on the back of the pew, refilling offering envelopes and making sure there are pens available, and changing the paraments on the pulpit and lectern. You would commit to one month a year and would come by weekly for the 4 weeks. This is a great way to serve as a family, with a friend or as a small group. Please contact Sue King, (865) 567-9543 for more information or to volunteer.

CALLING ALL WOMEN

Please join us on Tuesday, April 21 at 10:30AM in Room 145 across from the Worship Center for a "Call to Prayer and Self Denial". Light refreshments provided.

PROJECT LINUS APRIL MEETINGS

Join us for our monthly Project Linus meeting next Wednesday, April 1 at 5 PM in Room 59. The meeting will be brief (30-45 min) in support of Stations of Cross.  We will discuss plans for the upcoming Project Linus of East TN Sewing Day hosted by Concord United on Saturday, April 25, 9 AM to 3 PM.  Please email LeighAnna Colgrove at leighanna.colgrove@yahoo.com for more information.
