Sharing Christ. Serving Others. Growing in Faith

ASSISTED LISTENING

Concord is excited to announce that we have installed new Wi-Fi Streaming Assisted Listening devices for both our Worship Center and Sanctuary.

Bring wired headphones that will work with your smart phone or tablet. Connect to the church Wi-Fi network, "Concord UMC Guest". Download the app "Listen Everywhere". Then open the app and choose your location. NOTE: Bluetooth headphones/hearings will have latency issues. If you need wired headphones, stop by the Information Desk.

SHARING CHRIST

WOULD YOU BE WILLING TO MAKE VISITORS FEEL WELCOME ONCE A MONTH? Our church is growing and so are our needs. Please consider serving as a rotating Sunday Morning Greeter, Usher, Coffee Host or as a smiling face at our Welcome Desk. There is also a need for more help on Wednesdays for Concord Community Care Nights - food prep in the morning, serving or clean up in the evening. Contact Joan De Tar for more info or to sign up - [email protected] or 865-966-6728, ext. 242.

UMCOR SUNDAY - This ministry is achieved exclusively through your generosity. The special offering on March 26 underwrites UMCOR’s “cost of doing business” making it possible for UMCOR to focus on responding to communities and individuals when they need immediate assistance. It allows UMCOR to preserve the promise that 100% of any donation to a specific UMCOR project or missionary will go towards that project and not administrative cost. DONATE HERE.

Persons will walk through six stations which tell the story of these events. Journeying through the stations occurs through groups walking through the stations. Groups will begin the stations every 10 minutes starting at 6:00pm until 7:00pm. We encourage sign-ups for a start time, yet welcome walk ins are welcome. Invite someone to join you on the journey. Sign up here.

We will discuss ways to parent with faith.

MAUNDY THURSDAY WORSHIP SERVICE (Holy Thursday) - Thursday, April 6 - 7PM - Sanctuary - Also, available online at ConcordUnited.org or Youtube.com/ConcordUnited. Join us on Thursday, April 6 for a very special Holy Week service of Maundy Thursday. This will be a service that remembers and reflects upon Jesus’ last supper with his disciples before his death. The story will be retold through music, scripture, and the observance of Holy Communion.

GOOD FRIDAY WORSHIP SERVICE - Friday, April 7 | 7PM | Worship Center - Also, available online at ConcordUnited.org or Youtube.com/ConcordUnited. Good Friday is a service of worship that offers both scripture and meditation, reflecting on Jesus’ last hours on earth. The format of this service of Tenebrae, or “Darkness,” is based on a twelfth-century service and is an extended meditation on the passion of Christ. Good Friday is not meant to leave you feeling happy. It was a very heavy time. It is hard to imagine what Jesus must have gone through, but he knew what was coming. The celebration of Easter and the resurrection are the most joyous after you have experienced Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.

EASTER WORSHIP SERVICES - Sunday, April 9 | 9 & 11 AM | Traditional & Contemporary worship offered at both times.
