The Bible story this Sunday comes from the books of first and second Samuel in the Old Testament. Those books contain the story of a man named David. David made Mephibosheth a permanent member of his royal household! He kept the promise he made to his friend Jonathan all those years before.

It’s pretty amazing when you look back at the friendship between Jonathan and David. Jonathan kept his promise to protect David from his father, King Saul. And David kept his promise to Jonathan by taking care of his son, many years later. When you keep your promises, it shows your friends that you care for them and that they can trust you.

1 Samuel 19-20; 2 Samuel 9

It is so helpful for everyone to be able to put a face with a name.
