DGC Operating Room: an ASSET to Surgical Practice
Residents and attendings from the Department of Surgery participated in an ASSET course led by Dr. Mark Hamil. This session showcased surgical exposures of the neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis, as well as upper and lower extremities.
iEXCEL Student Society Skills Night
The iEXCEL Student Society organized an interprofessional skills night at the Davis Global Center to practice IV placement, airways, suturing, the DaVinci trainer and more.
Standardized Patient Practice
iEXCEL Standardized Patients visited the Buffett Cancer Center to role-play an anxious patient headed to their first radiation appointment. This simulation, led by instructor Jana Koth, helped College of Allied Health Professions' Radiation Therapy students identify and address technical issues while talking with and reassuring the patient.
Statewide Broadcast with AHA
iEXCEL, SIM-NE and the American Heart Association continued to reach statewide audiences with virtual training broadcasts live from the Davis Global Center. This month, the series welcomed instructor Adele Anderson to share her expertise on the importance of EMS' role in the stroke chain of care.
