A press conference featuring Dr. James Lawler and Dr. Peter Angeletti highlights the Omicron variant of the COVID-19 virus. Broadcast live from the Davis Global Center, the segment showcased 3D models and animations created by the iEXCEL visualization team.
December Highlights
Mixed Modality Simulation
Physician Assistant third year students led by Carey Wheelhouse rotate through eight stations using standardized patients, visualization and simulation technologies to practice responding to a variety of cases including eclampsia and congestive heart failure.
Interprofessional Cardiac Simulations
Dr. Kim Duncan, Dr. Andrew Maresch, Scott Sanders and Amber Likert lead professionals from the Departments of Surgery, Anesthesiology and Clinical Perfusion in simulated cardiac emergencies. In practicing emergency bypass surgeries, the team is able to strengthen teamwork and communication skills.
