Global leadership in improving human performance & effectiveness in healthcare
iEXCEL partners with Bennington Fire and Rescue! Emergency Responders visited the Davis Global Center, using the simulated Home Unit and Ambulance to practice their skills transferring a patient from home to hospital.
September Highlights
Simulation + Visualization
College of Medicine second-year students work with Dr. Justin Mott for a Gastro-Intestinal (GI) workshop. Over two days, 132 medical students utilized interactive walls, laparoscopic trainers and colonoscopy simulators to complete their rotation. This hybrid training approach offers "hands-on" skills that enhance the classroom experience.
SIM-NE: Realistic Practice Leads to Real Results
Simulation in Motion – Nebraska (SIM-NE) recently trained the Detachment-1 HQ, 155th Medical Group of the Nebraska Air National Guard. Practice at the base in Lincoln included trauma patient extraction and leg amputation, as well as simulated radiation treatment from weapons exposure. Mobile, customized training by the SIM-NE team provides unique and immersive experiences throughout the entire state of Nebraska!
Research & Development
Dr. Miki Katzir from the Department of Neurosurgery conducted a two-part research study involving resecting tumors and cancerous lesions from the spine. The Davis Global Center serves as a key resource for enhancing procedures and improving patient outcomes through research opportunities.
