Hands on Kirkwood
Saturday, Oct. 3
Hands on Kirkwood was founded in 2007 and is made up and supported by churches, community organizations, businesses, individuals and service groups. The project is a one-day mission blitz of our local community. It is a special day when every member of our community is encouraged and empowered to go serve. Hands on Kirkwood gives us that opportunity. It is a simple way – just sign-up to serve neighbors in need.

Due to COVID-19, this year’s event will look a little different. Most projects are postponed until next year including our winter clothing store, electronic recycling and paper shredding.

However, they ARE doing OUTDOOR home projects, our food and baby items collection drive, free winter car check and notary availability for mail-in and absentee ballots.

Need an excuse to get out of the house? Sign up to help on outside yard projects or to help clean up the historic Father Dickson Cemetery.

Volunteers are also needed to help drop yellow bags on Kirkwood doors the last part of September for a food and personal care items drive. And volunteers are also needed to help pick up on Saturday, October 3. The collected items will go to KirkCare, Meramec Brown Bag Café and Nurses for Newborns. Please take time to fill a bag. You can also drop your donation off at Kirkwood Baptist Church in the yellow containers October 1-3. Click below to sign up on line.

Don’t want to get out, but still want to help others? Visit www.HandsOnKirkwood.org and get something for others in need from our Amazon store.

You can also to visit the store directly. In minutes you can select your donation, order it and have it delivered!

Todd or the parish office as soon as possible in order to secure the ministrations of the church.

Sunday, September 16: Sixteenth Sunday After Pentecost

Grant us, Lord, not to be anxious about earthly things, but to love things heavenly; and even now, while we are placed among things that are passing away, to hold fast to those that shall endure; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
