iNaturalist & Calflora
You may pull iNat records into Calflora.
We pull iNaturalist California plant data into Calflora monthly. In order to filter out observations that are not wild or may not be accurately IDd according to our distribution information for each species, our algorithm does not pull everything.

To improve the distribution information and depth of Calflora information, you may now select observations to pull into Calflora from iNat. You may pull in your iNat records as well as those of others.

For instance, if you want to find your own iNat records, enter your handle in the User Login field. You might enter Scientific Name to find records of a certain species, or a date to find records made during a certain period. To find records from a certain area, zoom the map into that area, and check in map area.

Run your query and click on the ID of any record for three options:

  1. detail: see that observation on iNat
  2. location close-up: see the possible and confirmed ranges for that species
  3. add to Calflora: you become the owner of this record in Calflora but without editing access

When you select "add to Calflora," that observation will then show up in Calflora searches. Here is the help documentation for this tool, and you may also reply to this email with questions.

Happy importing!
